ProHockeyTalk welcomes Mike Milbury to the family

It’s a big day for us here at ProHockeyTalk as we welcome NBC analyst Mike Milbury as a contributor to PHT.

You already know Mike from his work on the NBC Game of the Week as a studio analyst and opinion agitator and now he’ll be bringing his knowledge and his opinions here online for PHT as well as NBC Sports. Much like how NBC’s Cris Collinsworth helps out with, Mike Milbury will be doing a lot of the same things for us. Mike, in his own special way, shared the sentiment.

“Apparently, NBC Sports can’t get enough of my obnoxious commentary so they are allowing me to contribute to their Web site,” said Milbury. “Seriously, I’m grateful for this opportunity, which will expand the NHL’s presence on Just don’t expect any Tweeting.”

I know, I know… You’re sad about the Twitter thing, but it’s OK because whatever Mike Milbury wants and needs to say cannot be simply contained in 140 characters and now you’ll be able to read it and see it here in video form at PHT.

We know you’re familiar with Mike’s work on NBC as well as his work on NESN and on CBC’s Hot Stove and we also know that a lot of you often disagree with what he’s got to say.  Oh yeah, we’ve read around a little bit.

One thing’s for sure though, we know Mike Milbury will keep you talking about the hot topics in the NHL. Welcome aboard, Mike.

Welcome to the new look Pro Hockey Talk

It’s been in the works for a little while now but we’re happy to show off our new look here at Pro Hockey Talk. We look nicer, we move around a little faster, we’re easier to access and show off to all your friends.

Towards the top of the page you’ll see headers for our top posts. It’s what’s new and what’s hot and featuring the latest big news about what’s going on in the NHL. On the sidebar you’ll see links to our top posts recently past and present as well as our most commented on posts should you want to keep up with what everyone else is yelling about. You’ll also notice both Twitter and Facebook buttons to easier share your favorite stories here with your friends and followers on your favorite social networking site of choice. We know how you all like to click on buttons.

You’ll also have easier access to the top stories and videos going on elsewhere in the sports world from all of our teammates here at Whether it’s Hardball Talk, Pro Football Talk, Pro Basketball Talk, College Football Talk, or Out Of Bounds that you’re looking to get connected to, we can help you get there a lot easier as well. We know that hockey is your main deal, but if you want to dabble in how the other sports live, we can’t blame you for snooping around.

As for what this means content-wise around here, we’ll continue to bring you the latest news from around the NHL and in the future we’ll be bringing you more news and features and maybe even a couple of new surprises along the way. As always, we thank you for reading and hope that our new, snazzy look excites you as much as it does us.
