NBCSN’s Hockey Happy Hour: Neal lifts Predators vs. Ducks in 2017

This week’s Hockey Happy Hour on NBCSN (5-7 p.m. ET) will feature memorable “on this date” games in playoff history.

Nashville jumped out to an early series lead when they registered a 3-2 overtime win in the team’s first-ever appearance in the Western Conference Final behind James Neal’s winning goal.

Kenny Albert, Joe Micheletti and Brian Boucher called the matchup from Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

As part of the broadcast, Tappen looks back at St. Louis’ win over Calgary in the ‘Monday Night Miracle’ 34 years ago on May 12, 1986.

NBC Sports’ Kathryn Tappen will co-host a 30-minute program that features interviews with three sets of NHL players and their mothers. The three mother and son relationships featured in the program are:

• Ryan (Rangers), Dylan (Blackhawks) and Matthew Strome (Flyers prospect) and mother, Trish
• Quinn (Canucks) and Jack Hughes (Devils) and mother, Ellen
• David Ayres (Hurricanes emergency goalie) and mother, Mary

NHL PLAYER GAMING CHALLENGE – THURS. 5 P.M. ET, NBCSN
NBCSN will present the NHL Player Gaming Challenge between Chicago vs. Los Angeles. The competition features Alex DeBrincat and Drake Caggiula representing the Blackhawks against Blake Lizotte and Michael Amadio of the Kings. The month-long initiative will pit NHL players from all 31 clubs facing off against each other in EA Sports NHL 20.

Following the hour-long broadcast, a matchup between Anthony Mantha and Madison Bowey of the Red Wings and Jordan Greenway and Devan Dubnyk of the Wild will be available on NBCSports.com, the NBC Sports app and the NBC Sports YouTube channel.

NBCSN’s Hockey Happy Hour: The Comeback on Katella

This week’s Hockey Happy Hour on NBCSN (5-7 p.m. ET) will feature memorable “on this date” games in playoff history.

Edmonton jumped out to a three-goal advantage in Game 5, but with just over three minutes left in the game, Anaheim rallied to score three times to force overtime. ‘The Comeback on Katella’ was complete when Corey Perry scored the winning goal in double overtime to give the Ducks a 4-3 victory and 3-2 series lead.

Chris Cuthbert and Brian Boucher called the matchup from Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

As part of the broadcast, Patrick Sharp looks back on the final two playoff points of his career as a member of the Stars in an overtime victory in Game 4 of the Second Round against the  Blues on May 5, 2016.

NBCSN will present the NHL Player Gaming Challenge at 5 p.m. ET, between Arizona vs. Boston. The competition features Clayton Keller and Conor Garland representing the Coyotes against Charlie McAvoy and Jake DeBrusk of the Bruins. The month-long initiative will pit NHL players from all 31 clubs facing off against each other in EA Sports NHL 20.

Following the hour-long broadcast at 5 p.m. ET, a matchup between Jonathan Huberdeau of the Florida Panthers and Evgeny Kuznetsov of the Washington Capitals will be available on NBCSports.com, the NBC Sports app and the NBC Sports YouTube channel.

USA-CANADA (2018 OLYMPICS WOMEN’S GOLD MEDAL GAME) – SUN., 3 P.M. ET, NBC
Team USA and Canada faced off in the gold medal game at the PyeongChang Olympics in 2018. Behind the game-winning shootout goal by Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson, the Americans won, 3-2, to claim their second-ever Olympic gold medal. The win also snapped the Canadians’ streak of four straight Olympic titles.

Airing on Mother’s Day, the broadcast will have numerous new elements, including NBC Sports’ NHL host Kathryn Tappen interviewing Team USA captain Meghan Duggan on her memories about the gold medal game and celebrating Mother’s Day as both a mother and as a daughter. NBC’s broadcast will also feature a Mother’s Day tribute essay penned by Mike Emrick, as well as a profile on American forward Hilary Knight, who scored the opening goal for Team USA in the 2018 gold medal game.

NBCSN Hockey Happy Hour: Pageau’s four-goal playoff game vs. Rangers

This week’s Hockey Happy Hour on NBCSN will again feature memorable “on this date” games in NHL playoff history.

Three years to the day, Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored four goals, including the double-overtime winner, to lead his hometown Senators over the Rangers, 6-5. Ottawa went on to win the series in six games to reach the Eastern Conference Final against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

John Forslund and Brian Boucher called the matchup from Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.

During the broadcast, Eddie Olczyk reflects on his final career playoff goal on April 29, 1998, as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

NBCSN’s Hockey Happy Hour: Predators start Cup Final run by sweeping Blackhawks

This week’s Hockey Happy Hour on NBCSN (5-7 p.m. ET) will feature memorable “on this date” games in playoff history.

Three years ago to the day, the 8th-seeded Predators eliminated the top-seeded Blackhawks from the playoffs behind two goals from Roman Josi and 30 saves by goaltender Pekka Rinne for a 4-1 victory. The win marked the first time that Nashville swept a playoff opponent in franchise history, and set the stage for the franchise’s run to their first Stanley Cup Final appearance.

Gord Miller and Ray Ferraro had the call from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.

During the broadcast, Keith Jones will look back at his first playoff fight on April 20, 1993, when he was a rookie with the Capitals.

NBCSN’s Hockey Happy Hour: Kunitz puts Penguins in Cup Final

NBC Sports’ Hockey Happy Hour continues this week with matchups featuring unsung heroes.

Chris Kunitz opened the scoring in the second period of Game 7, his first goal in over three months. After regulation, tied at two goals apiece, Kunitz recorded his third point, and second goal of the game, in double overtime to send the Penguins to the Stanley Cup Finals for the second straight year.

Kenny Albert, Eddie Olczyk, and Pierre McGuire called the matchup from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa.
