The Philadelphia Flyers have not been great this season, but one of the consistent bright spots has been the play of team captain Claude Giroux.

Entering play on Saturday he is on pace for one of the best offensive seasons of his career, and along with teammate Jakub Voracek has been one of the most productive players in the league this year.

He added to that great offensive season in the first period against the St. Louis Blues when he scored his 14th goal. This one came with a little bit of help from the backside of Blues defenseman Colton Parayko.

Have a look.

Yeah, that is a butt goal.

As Giroux attempted a saucer pass to teammate Travis Konecny, the puck hit off the butt of a sliding Parayko and deflected into the net behind Jake Allen, who was pretty much helpless on the play.
