There is better news on Sunday as the Flyers announced that Neuvirth has been released from the hospital and is currently home resting after all diagnostic testing was normal.
The team says he will be evaluated again on Monday.
General manager Ron Hextall added, via Tim Panaccio, that Neuvirth had been suffering from a bad chest cold earlier this week.
After Neuvirth exited the game he was replaced by backup Anthony Stolarz who stopped all 15 shots he faced to help lead the Flyers to a 3-0 win over the New Jersey Devils. Obviously Neuvirth will not be available for Sunday night’s game against the New York Rangers, but Steve Mason is expected to join the team in New York.
