Dallas Stars forward Curtis McKenzie will not travel with the team to Carolina after suffering a possible eye injury late in the third period of Thursday’s game with the Boston Bruins.
That is according to the Stars, who announced McKenzie was taken to hospital to have a cut on his eye closed up. The incident occurred when McKenzie was caught with a high stick from Kevan Miller off of a faceoff.
The club provided another update shortly after, per Stars website writer Mark Stepneski:
Update on McKenzie from PR: It looks like it is soft tissue, not the eyeball. It will be re-assessed at the hospital.
