Whether Thomas Greiss‘ sprawling save was the true turning point or not, there’s no debating that the New York Islanders wouldn’t allow a third goal against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday.
Instead, the Islanders fought back to gain a 3-2 overtime win by … well, you probably guessed it even without seeing the headline: John Tavares did it again.
As an added wrinkle, Joshua Ho-Sang continues to be a catalyst for the Islanders.
The Isles’ number 66 scored the first Islanders’ goal to start the comeback and then sent back the drop pass that preceded Tavares’ overtime game-winner:
This is a big win for the Islanders one way or another, but it could be especially noteworthy depending upon how their East playoff bubble brethren perform on Tuesday.
