The Ottawa Senators’ recent injury woes will continue on Saturday night when they take on the Colorado Avalanche without forwards Kyle Turris and Mark Stone.

Turris has been sidelined for the past couple of days due to a finger injury and has not played since March 6 against the Boston Bruins.

Stone, meanwhile, was injured in the Senators’ 3-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday night and will not be ready go in time for Saturday’s game due to his lower body injury. Coach Guy Boucher announced on Saturday that Phil Varone will take his spot in the lineup.

The Senators have been hit hard by injuries in recent weeks with Stone, Turris, Mike Hoffman and Bobby Ryan all missing some time. Ryan remains sidelined with a hand injury, while Chris Neil and Mark Borowiecki are also dealing with various ailments.

With Stone and Turris out of the lineup tonight that means the Senators will be without two of their top-four scorers on the season. Stone and Turris are also tied for the team lead with 22 goals each.

Fortunately for the Senators they are getting an Avalanche team that is on track to be one of the worst NHL teams of the modern era and has won just 10 of its past 38 games.
