Sidney Crosby continues to chase career point No. 1,000 in the NHL. He’s currently stuck on 998 points, after his latest opportunity to close in on the career milestone was foiled by Vancouver Canucks goalie Ryan Miller.

Miller reached across to make a spectacular save with the left arm on Penguins forward Jake Guentzel during the first period of Tuesday’s game. The puck deflected over the net, denying Pittsburgh of the opening goal.

Crosby set up the play with a perfect pass between three different Vancouver defenders to a wide-open Guentzel. Only problem was Miller reaching over just in time to make the save.
