The St. Louis Blues have said the lower body injury that Paul Stastny suffered on Thursday night is not a long-term one, but it is still going to keep him out of the lineup on Saturday night when the team visits the Montreal Canadiens.
Stastny had to leave Thursday’s overtime win against Toronto after playing just seven minutes and did not return to the game.
He will remain out of the lineup tonight as the Blues look to win their fourth game in a row and maintain their playoff position in the Western Conference.
With Stastny out of the lineup the Blues’ top line will have a slightly different look on Saturday night. Instead of Stastny centering the group, it will be Alex Steen skating between Vladimir Tarasenko and Magnus Paajarvi, at least based on the combinations the team was using at its morning skate.
In 54 games this season Stastny has 15 goals and 20 assists for the Blues. That includes six points (three goals, three assists) in the previous five games before the injury.
