Thanks to four consecutive wins, including a dominating 5-0 win over the Colorado Avalanche earlier this week, the Los Angeles Kings enter play on Saturday back in a playoff position in the Western Conference.
They got some more good news when forward Tyler Toffoli was actived from injured reserve after missing the past 19 games due to a lower body injury.
He remains a game-time decision for Saturday afternoon’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers, but the fact he has been activated from IR is a positive development for a Kings team that continues to make a second half push for the playoffs.
Toffoli, who most recently appeared in a game for the Kings on Dec. 20, has been one of their best forwards the past three years and has developed into a well-rounded player that excels in all phases of the game, including on the penalty kill.
After scoring a career-high 31 goals a year ago for the Kings, he has eight goals and 12 assists in his first 32 games this season.
