The Philadelphia Flyers will be without defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere on Sunday evening when they face the Detroit Red Wings.
Gostisbehere had to briefly leave Saturday’s win over the Dallas Stars due to a right hand injury that was later revealed to be a bone bruise. He was injured when he was hit in the hand by a puck in the second period. He eventually returned at the start of the third period and was able to finish the game.
Still, the Flyers are keeping him out of the lineup on Sunday and will replace him with Michael Del Zotto.
Del Zotto has not appeared in a game for the Flyers since Dec. 6 against the Florida Panthers.
In 29 games this season Gostisbehere has four goals, 12 assists and is averaging more than 20 minutes of ice time per game. He was a healthy scratch for one game earlier this season so this will be his second missed game of the season.
He has a point in five of his past six games, including four in a row.
The Flyers enter play on Sunday with an eight-game winning streak.
