Video: Jets make Clifford pay for boarding Connor (update)

A scary incident in Sunday’s game between the Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets.

At the 13:00 mark of the opening period, Kings forward Kyle Clifford was given a five-minute major for boarding Jets rookie Kyle Connor.

Connor stayed down for a while before heading to his team’s locker room.

Instead of taking a silly retaliation penalty, the Jets made their play on the ice do the talking.

Winnipeg was trailing 1-0 at that point, but thanks to their power play, they were able to score not once, but twice while Clifford was in the box.

Adam Lowry scored the game-tying goal, while Marko Dano gave the Jets the lead:

Connor was able to return to the game at the start of the second period.

Update:

Late in the second period, Chris Thorburn and Kyle Clifford dropped the gloves and got five minutes each for fighting.
