It sounds like the New York Islanders have been dealt another tough blow.
According to Andy Graziano of SNY, defenseman Dennis Seidenberg likely suffered a broken jaw in Saturday’s 3-2 loss to the Florida Panthers.
He appeared to be injured after taking a puck to the face moments before Kyle Rau scored for the Panthers (talk about adding insult to injury).
Credit to the Isles defenseman because after looking dazed for a second or two, he got back up and even shoved a Panther player out of his way.
Seidenberg, who only signed after the World Cup, had been putting up some solid numbers. The 35-year-old has four goals, four assists and a plus-10 rating in 15 contests.
New York was already without defensemen Ryan Pulock and Travis Hamonic. Both players are still multiple weeks away from returning to the lineup.
