No hearing scheduled for de Haan after Drouin hit

Isles d-man Calvin de Haan isn’t scheduled to face a disciplinary hearing for his hit on Tampa Bay forward Jonathan Drouin, an NHL spokesman confirmed.

De Haan was given a five-minute interference major on the play, which occurred early in the first period of the Bolts’ eventual 6-1 win. Drouin left the game and didn’t return, finishing with just 18 seconds of ice time.

Following the contest, Lightning head coach Jon Cooper said Drouin was held out of the remainder of the contest for precautionary measures, and will be re-evaluated.

“He was in good spirits after the game,” Cooper added, per NHL.com.

De Haan doesn’t have a history with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety, having never been suspended or fined during his six-year career.
