General manager Tim Murray has made some drastic changes to the Buffalo Sabres lineup the past two years by adding Ryan O'Reilly, Evander Kane, Zach Bogosian and Robin Lehner.

He added another big veteran this summer when he signed former New York Islanders forward Kyle Okposo to a seven-year $42 million contract.

Due to a knee injury he was one of the key Sabres players that did not play in their season opening 4-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens.

He should be ready to make his Sabres debut on Sunday night when the team travels to Edmonton to take on Connor McDavid and the Oilers. During practice on Saturday he skated on the team’s top line alongside O’Reilly and Sam Reinhart, while his locker stall was set up with his journey on Sunday morning.

Okposo was one of the top free agents to hit the open market over the summer. The 27-year-old winger is coming off of a huge season with the Islanders that saw him score 22 goals and add 42 assists. He has developed into a top-line scorer that has scored at a better than 60 point pace in each of the past three seasons.
