Some bad news if you’re a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Frederik Andersen suffered an injury in Denmark’s Olympic qualifier against Slovenia on Friday.
Andersen came out of his net to play the puck before one of his teammates crashed into him. He stayed down for a few minutes before being pulled from the game.

Andersens teammate crashed into him, goalie stayed down on the ice for a good few minutes and then was pulled.

The 26-year-old was named to Team Europe’s roster for the World Cup, where he was expected to be the team’s number one goalie.
At this point, it’s unclear if the injury is serious enough to affect his availability for the tournament or for Maple Leafs training camp.
Andersen was acquired from Anaheim this off-season for a 2016 first-round pick and a 2017 second-round pick. The Leafs then signed him to a five-year, $25 million contract extension.
It’s safe to say that Toronto has a lot invested in their new number one goalie.
