This is part of Arizona Coyotes day at PHT...

The Arizona Coyotes had two of the best young players in the NHL in 2015-16 with Max Domi and Anthony Duclair showing they have the potential to be impact players in the NHL. It was a great sign for their future.

Dylan Strome, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2015 draft, nearly joined them before being sent back to Erie of the Ontario Hockey League. After another dominating performance in the OHL in 2015-16, He should be ready to make that jump this season, especially after the Coyotes opened a roster spot with the recent buyout of veteran forward Antoine Vermette.

Strome is coming off of his second consecutive 110-point season in the OHL and has a chance to be the true No. 1 center the Coyotes franchise has lacked for years. And by joining a team that already has Domi and Duclair in place the Coyotes have a chance to have one of the most exciting young cores in the NHL. What should be exciting about this group for Arizona is that they are not only the foundation of what should be an improving hockey team, but they also play an extremely entertaining brand of hockey, something hockey fans in Arizona haven’t always had the opportunity to watch.

Even when the Coyotes had some success in recent years, specifically during their run of three consecutive playoff appearances between 2010 and 2012, they didn’t always play exciting hockey. It was more about slowing the game down and scratching out wins with a team that had to be assembled on a shoestring budget. The budget may still be small, but they actually have a wave of talent coming along that has a chance to not only win in the future, but also be exciting while doing so.

We’ve already seen what Domi and Duclair are capable of.

Now we will get a chance to see what Strome, perhaps the best of the bunch, can do.
