Former Flyers defenseman Evgeny Medvedev is heading back to the KHL. The 33-year-old signed a two-year deal with Avangard Omsk.

Medvedev’s tenure in the NHL lasted just one season. He had four goals and 12 points in 45 games and was often a healthy scratch down the stretch.

Prior to joining the Flyers last off-season, he spent the previous eight years with Kazan.

Medvedev’s tenure in North America didn’t end on a positive note. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI back in April.

The KHL veteran will be joining former NHLers Alexander Perezhogin and Martin Erat with Omsk.
