Jared Staal -- younger brother of Eric, Marc and Jordan -- has departed the Carolina Hurricanes organization and has signed with EIHL team Edinburgh, the club announced on Monday.

Staal, 25, appeared in two NHL games over his professional career, including one alongside Eric and Jordan, when the three started on the same line together for a late-season game ‘Canes in 2013.

Staal spent the majority of his pro career with the ‘Canes AHL affiliate in Charlotte, but also toiled in the ECHL -- including this season, when he appeared in 64 games for South Carolina.

The Coyotes’ second-round pick in 2008, Staal will now join a U.K.-based circuit that’s employed the likes of former NHL tough guys Kevin Westgarth and Cam Janssen.
