Winnipeg has found a replacement for Pascal Vincent.

Jamie Kompon, the former assistant coach in Los Angeles and Chicago, has accepted the same gig under Paul Maurice, the Jets announced on Saturday.

More:

Kompon, 49, has extensive experience as an NHL assistant coach including six seasons with the Los Angeles Kings from 2006-11 and two seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks from 2012-14.

Kompon won the Stanley Cup in consecutive seasons, in 2012 with Los Angeles and 2013 with Chicago. Prior to his time in Los Angeles, which included time as the Kings’ Director of Amateur Development from 2006-08, Kompon spent nine seasons with the St. Louis Blues from 1997-2006 in various roles which included: assistant coach, video coach and strength and conditioning coach.

Kompon spent last season as the head coach in WHL Portland. As mentioned above, he replaces Vincent, who last month was named the head coach of Winnipeg’s AHL affiliate in Manitoba.
