San Jose Sharks forward Melker Karlsson limped off the ice and to the dressing room after an awkward fall into the end boards as he chased the puck in the Pittsburgh Penguins zone.
Karlsson appeared to lose an edge as he went toward the boards with Penguins’ defenseman Olli Maatta, doing the splits as he fell into the boards. Karlsson was in immediate pain, and needed the assistance of a trainer as he left the ice.
But he did return before the opening period ended.
For the Sharks, already without Tomas Hertl, that could’ve potentially been a key loss of one of their better depth forwards. Karlsson has two goals and three points in the last two games, including the winner in Game 5.

Melker Karlsson is back out, which is kinda amazing considering it looked like he blew out both hammies and knees
