Will the Sharks get Tomas Hertl back for Game 4 on Monday night? We still don’t know the answer. What we do know is that Hertl is still considered day-to-day, per his head coach Peter DeBoer.
Hertl was injured in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday night. He missed a good chunk of the second period for unknown reasons and then failed to play a shift in the final 10 minutes of the contest. He did not suit up in Game 3.
The 22-year-old had been one of San Jose’s more dangerous forwards in the series before going down. He has six goals and 11 points in 20 games this postseason.
Hertl had been playing on the Sharks’ top line with Joe Thornton and Joe Pavelski.
Without Hertl in Game 3, the Sharks did just enough to pick up the overtime win over the Penguins.
