A tough first period for the Penguins almost got even more difficult when Matt Murray took a hit to the head from teammate Brian Dumoulin.
Dumoulin clipped his goalie behind the Penguins’ net with just seconds remaining in the opening frame. Murray stayed down for a little while, but he was able to skate off the ice on his own. The 21-year-old did come out for the start of the second period.
Murray missed the first two games of Pittsburgh’s first round series against the Rangers because of a head injury.
