It’s been reality for several weeks now: No Canadian teams in the 2016 Stanley Cup playoffs.
But as the playoffs enter the third round, the St. Louis Blues have extended a hearty invitation to Canadians to adopt them as “Canada’s team” for the remainder of the post-season.
The Blues are in the Western Conference Final versus the San Jose Sharks.
The Blues released a video Friday making a case for Canada’s support: the team has more Canadian-born players on the roster than any other club left in the playoffs, Blues General Manager Doug Armstrong is also Team Canada’s GM and Blues Head Coack Ken Hitchcock is an Edmonton native who helped guide Canada to a Gold Medal at the Winter Olympics.
