Blues’ Stastny: ‘History has to change eventually’

The Blackhawks battled back to tie the series and force Game 7, making them extremely dangerous ahead of Monday night. Despite whatever nerves St. Louis may have, they've got to keep the "one game at a time" mentality.

There are plenty of ways that the St. Louis Blues can approach what should be a fascinating Game 7 against the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday.

Some might find it difficult to shrug off the Blues’ past playoff disappointments and the Blackhawks’ loaded resume of big-game success.

Paul Stastny seems to be taking a healthier approach that almost boils down to “Why not us?”

One can only speculate how the Blues really feel. Maybe they truly will “grip their sticks too tight” against the battle-tested Blackhawks.

It’s been a while since St. Louis hosted a game of this magnitude (and that didn’t go too well).

On the other hand, they’re saying all the right things

... And they’ve shown the ability to shrug off some brutal haymakers before, both during the regular season and in this series.

Oh yeah, most importantly some news: the Blues are sticking with Brian Elliott rather than turning to Jake Allen in Game 7.
