Here’s an ugly incident from Thursday’s game between the Ducks and Predators.
With under 10 seconds remaining in the second period, Preds forward Mike Ribeiro landed a spear on Ducks forward Corey Perry (top). Ribeiro was given a two-minute slashing penalty on the play.
The Ducks didn’t score on the ensuing power play, but they did end up winning the game and tying the series 2-2.
It’ll be interesting to see if Ribeiro is at least fined for his actions.
It’s not the first time Perry’s been involved in a spearing incident. In 2014, he delivered one to Stars forward Jamie Benn.
There was also that time Perry speared Predators goalie Pekka Rinne.
