Blackhawks fans are used to Patrick Kane delivering in big moments on the ice. But on Sunday, it was his penalty that put the team in a bind (top).
With just over eight minutes remaining in regulation and the score tied 2-2, Kane was called for high-sticking. Kane was given a double-minor because Alex Pietrangelo shed some blood.
The Blues were able to convert during the first two minutes of the man-advantage, as Jaden Schwartz got one by Corey Crawford.
Schwartz’s goal proved to be the game-winner.
After the game, Kane took full responsibility for the penalty:

The Blues may not have been on the right side of some key decisions in Game 2, but they responded in a big way in Game 3. Despite not having the lead until late in the third period, St. Louis managed to stay within striking distance of the ‘Hawks and it paid off.
