The Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders will clash on the final night of the NHL’s 2015-16 regular season.

The game is completely meaningless for Philadelphia because they clinched a playoff spot on Saturday.

Here are the playoff scenarios:

  1. If the Islanders beat the Flyers: The Islanders would play the Penguins in the first round and the Rangers would take on the Panthers.
  2. If the Flyers beat the Islanders: The Panthers would play the Islanders and the Rangers would play the Penguins.

Even though the game isn’t completely meaningless for the Islanders, they’ve still decided to rest John Tavares, Frans Nielsen, Kyle Okposo (wife giving birth) and Johnny Boychuk.

The Flyers will sit Claude Giroux, Wayne Simmonds, Sean Couturier, Mark Streit and Steve Mason (Ray Emery will back up Michal Neuvirth).
