The St. Louis Blues just can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to the health of their goaltenders. They’ve lost both Brian Elliott and Jake Allen for long stretches this season and it might have happened again.
Jake Allen managed to complete the first period of Sunday’s game against Colorado, but he did come out for the start of the second period.
Allen already missed 17 games between Jan. 9 and Feb. 20 because of a knee injury.
It’s unclear when exactly Allen was injured, but it’s entirely possible that he tweaked something with about 3:20 left in the first period (top).
Anders Nilsson is now in goal for the Blues.
Thanks for heads-up folks. Looked at the play with around 3:20 left and looked like maybe jammed skate in ice, something along those lines.

Only thing we've found is with 3:20 left, Allen had to reverse field making a save and his skate kind of stuck in the ice. He stayed in game
