Detroit got off to a promising start on Saturday. They jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Andreas Athanasiou beat Marc-Andre Fleury in the first period. Unfortunately for the Wings, the Penguins stormed back with four unanswered goals in the second frame.

Chris Kunitz got the party started just 20 seconds into the second period. Kris Letang and Carl Hagelin added goals four and 11 minutes minutes later before Phil Kessel scored from a sharp angle to make it 4-1.
