The shoulder injury David Perron suffered during Sunday’s game against Winnipeg will keep him out of Anaheim’s lineup for the foreseeable future, head coach Bruce Boudreau confirmed on Monday.
“He’s going home for an MRI,” Boudreau said, per PHT’s Joey Alfieri. “It’s a shoulder injury. I don’t know how bad it is, but I assume it’s week-to-week.”
Perron was knocked out of action early against the Jets, and didn’t return. He finished with just 5:07 of ice time.
On Tuesday, the Ducks will play their second of a five-game Canadian road trip that goes through Winnipeg, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and Edmonton. Given Perron went back to Anaheim for medical evaluation, it’s safe to rule him out for the remainder of the swing -- which would be a big loss.
Perron has been terrific since coming over from Pittsburgh in the Carl Hagelin trade, scoring eight goals and 20 points in 28 games.
With Perron out of the lineup, the Ducks could insert Mike Santorelli into the lineup as a replacement forward.
