The Washington Capitals dominated the early moments of Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Not only were the Pens able to weather the storm, but they responded with two quick goals.

Tom Kuhnhackl made a sweet spin-o-rama pass to Bryan Rust, who made a sweet move before beating Braden Holtby (above).

Just 1:26 later, Trevor Daley scored this wicked backhand goal to give extend Pittsburgh’s lead to 2-0:

With his primary assist on Daley’s goal, Sidney Crosby extended his point streak to a season-high 12 games. Crosby is now third in NHL scoring behind Patrick Kane and Jamie Benn. That’s incredible considering he had just nine points in his first 18 games. Since Jan. 12, Crosby has 19 goals and 43 points in 30 games.
