Lidstrom auctions off Hall of Fame jersey to raise money for bankrupt hometown team

Lidstrom

Hall of Fame defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom was one of the greatest players to ever lace up a pair of skates. Many know him for his illustrious 20-year career with the Red Wings, but before landing in Detroit he played for his hometown team over in Sweden, Vasteras IK.

Vasteras IK are going through some difficult financial times. With the team in bankruptcy, Lidstrom decided to put up his Hockey Hall of Fame jersey up for auction with the money raised going back to his former Swedish League team.
