It’s been a month since the Nashville Predators lost in regulation.

Their franchise-record point streak reached 13 games (9-0-4) on Tuesday, as they defeated the Winnipeg Jets by a final score of 4-2 to tighten their grip on the first Wild Card spot in the West.

The Predators last loss in regulation on Feb. 9, when they were defeated by the NHL-leading Washington Capitals.

“Some games, it’s just not going to go as smoothly as you’d like,” Colton Sissons told The Tennessean.

“You saw guys falling down and pucks jumping around. You’ve just got to find a way and just believe. The team is pretty hot right now. We’re getting a little bit fortunate with some bounces and getting these wins in greasy hockey games.”

Despite the win, Predators’ forward Austin Watson was given a match penalty for a high hit on Marko Dano in the second period.

From the Winnipeg Free Press:

Watson was tagged with a match penalty at 13:53 of the second period after picking the head of Jets forward Marko Dano as his point of contact, and connecting. The hit took place in in the corner to the right of Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec.

It’s a Rule 48 infraction, and there will be a strong chance the NHL will be taking a further look at the high check.
