Kings forward Jeff Carter entered the third period of Monday’s game against the Canucks with 298 career goals. 20 minutes later, Carter found himself reaching a new milestone.
As you can tell from the above video, his second goal of the period extended his team’s lead to 5-1 and it was the 300th goal of his career.
Carter finished the game with a plus-3 rating, nine shots on goal, one hit and two blocked shots.

The win combined with Anaheim’s shootout loss to the Capitals means that the Kings are one point behind the Ducks in the Pacific Division standings. Both teams have played 65 games.
