Mrazek gets the hook after giving up two quick goals to the ‘Hawks

Petr Mrazek is having a relatively good season as Detroit’s starting goaltender, but he probably wants to avoid the Chicago Blackhawks going forward.

Mrazek gave up five goals on 33 shots in a loss to the ‘Hawks on Wednesday and things didn’t go much better for him on Sunday. The Red Wings goaltender was given the hook after allowing two goals in the first 6:19 of the game.

Patrick Kane opened the scoring just 21 seconds into the game:

All-Star defenseman Duncan Keith doubled Chicago’s lead just over six minutes later. That was the end of the night for Mrazek (top).

Jimmy Howard entered the game in relief of Mrazek. Howard has stopped each of the seven shots that the Blackhawks have directed his way.

Gustav Nyquist cut Chicago’s lead to 2-1.
