Sens’ Mark Borowiecki out indefinitely after awkwardly hitting boards

The Ottawa Senators have had bad injury luck lately, and that trend continued on Thursday.

As you can see from the video above, Mark Borowiecki hit the boards awkwardly after a seemingly innocuous collision with Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Matt Carle.

The play-by-play accurately stated that Borowiecki seemed uncomfortable right away, flexing his leg after that bump. It turns out he wasn’t feeling great for a reason, as the Senators label him as out indefinitely with a lower-body injury.

Ottawa’s playoff hopes are slim, so losing more players to injury only makes that situation look less optimistic.
