A minor trade to announce.

The Washington Capitals acquired Ryan Bourque from the New York Rangers for Chris Brown.

Bourque’s brother, Chris, is also playing for Washington’s AHL affiliate in Hersey. They are the sons of Hall-of-Fame defenseman Ray Bourque.

Ryan has skated in just one NHL game in his career.

Brown missed the beginning of the season because of a hand injury. Once he returned, he suited up in one game with the Capitals, but spent a good chunk of the season as a healthy scratch.

He’s been playing in the AHL since late December.

The 25-year-old has three goals and nine points in 20 games with the Hershey Bears in ’15-16.
