A minor trade to announce.

The Washington Capitals acquired Ryan Bourque from the New York Rangers for Chris Brown.

Bourque’s brother, Chris, is also playing for Washington’s AHL affiliate in Hersey.¬†They are the sons of Hall-of-Fame defenseman Ray Bourque.

Ryan has skated in just one NHL game in his career.

Brown missed the beginning of the season because of a hand injury. Once he returned, he suited up in one game with the Capitals, but spent a good chunk of the season as a healthy scratch.

He’s been playing in the AHL since late December.

The 25-year-old has three goals and nine points in 20 games with the Hershey Bears in ’15-16.
