Video: Giroux hits the 500-point mark in win over Coyotes

Claude Giroux made his return to the lineup on Saturday afternoon and he made his presence felt early on.

Giroux’s goal late in the first period was the 500th point of his NHL career (above).

The 28-year-old became the 14th player in franchise history to hit the 500-point plateau.

Defenseman Mark Streit had three assists in the game.

The two points allows Philadelphia to close the gap between themselves and a Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Flyers are one point behind the Penguins, but Pittsburgh has two games in hand (they’re currently leading the Jets by a score of 2-1 in the second period).
