In the words of commissioner Gary Bettman, “We have a trade to announce.”

The Buffalo Sabres and Ottawa Senators on Saturday made a seven-player, minor-league trade, which has a big impact on both AHL affiliates in Rochester and Binghamton.

As per a news release from Buffalo, going to the Sabres organization are forwards Alex Guptill, Eric O’Dell and Cole Schneider, and defenseman Michael Sdao.

Going to the Senators organization are forwards Jason Akeson and Phil Varone and defenseman Jerome Leduc.

From the Buffalo News:

None of the four players acquired have any NHL experience and it’s assumed they will all be assigned to Rochester. The Sabres have yet to indicate their intentions.
