New Jersey Devils forward Jordin Tootoo was given a cross checking major and a game misconduct for a dangerous hit from behind on New York Islanders defenseman Johnny Boychuk.

The incident occurred late in the second period of Friday’s game.

Boychuk was slow to get up but furious when he did. Appearing to favor his right arm, Boychuk slammed his stick against the boards as he went to the dressing room.
