The Calgary Flames saw their three-game losing streak come to an end on Wednesday. Unfortunately for them, defenseman T.J. Brodie left the game and did not return with a lower-body injury.

The Flames, already without defenseman Dennis Wideman, who was suspended 20 games earlier in the day for last week’s incident involving linesman Don Henderson, defeated the visiting Carolina Hurricanes by a score of 4-1.

According to Wes Gilbertson of Postmedia, Flames’ head coach Bob Hartley didn’t have an update on Brodie’s condition following the game.

But if Brodie is out for any prolonged period of time, it would be a huge loss to the Flames.

Brodie, 25, leads the Flames in ice time, averaging 25:08 per game. He’s also fourth on the team in points with 25, which is six back of fellow blue liner Mark Giordano.

Both defensemen are two of only four Calgary players with a Corsi For rating above 50 per cent at five-on-five and with more than 200 minutes played, as per stats.hockeyanalysis.com.
