Joakim Andersson isn’t going anywhere...for now.

After being placed on waivers by the Red Wings yesterday, it was announced that the 26-year-old went unclaimed.

Unlike teammate Jakub Kindl, clearing waivers doesn’t mean Andersson will be sent to the American Hockey League.

General Manager Ken Holland already confirmed that he’ll remain with the big club.

Despite being waived, Andersson still suited up in yesterday’s contest against the Buffalo Sabres.

He has one goal and three points while averaging 9:17 of ice time in 26 games this season.

Andersson is schedule to become an unrestricted free agent at season’s end.
