One day after signing an eight-year, $80 million contract extension with the Kings, Anze Kopitar scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks.
Kopitar tipped a Brayden McNabb shot past John Gibson to give Los Angeles a 3-1 lead late in the second period (above).
The Ducks closed the gap in the third frame when newly acquired forward David Perron scored his first goal as a member of the Ducks.
Perron’s last goal came on Dec. 1 (19 games) while he was still a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Andrew Cogliano appeared to score the tying goal in the third period, but referees waved it off because of a distinct kicking motion.
Cogliano turned his right skate. But did he move it forward slightly? Might have but can see it debated.

The Kings now have a 10-point lead atop the Pacific Division, while the Ducks are three points out of a playoff spot.
