Flyers forward Ryan White received a match penalty for his blindside hit to the head on Red Wings forward Tomas Jurco.
That’s the kind of hit the NHL wants to get out of the game.
White will hear from the NHL’s Department of Player Safety in the near future.

This is White’s first match penalty of the season, but he did receive two separate 10-minute misconducts less than a month ago.
Jurco was slow to get back to his feet, but he was able to return.
White was suspended for five games for this hit in 2013:
