Some bad news for the Metropolitan Division leaders.
Capitals goalie Braden Holtby exited Sunday’s game against the New York Rangers.

With 2:18 remaining in the second period, just 14 seconds after conceding his second goal of the game, Holtby skated over to the Caps bench. After a brief discussion with the team trainer and the referees, Holtby headed to the locker room leaving Philipp Grubauer to take over.
According to CSN Mid-Atlantic, Holtby is suffering from “symptoms of dehydration”. This isn’t the first time he’s had this kind of issue.
Holtby has a history of dehydration. Had recently left a practice early for that.

Holtby started yesterday’s game in Buffalo, but he didn’t face a full workload because he was pulled after allowing three goals on 16 shots.
The 26-year-old has been one of the best (if not the best) goalie in the NHL this season. He has a 28-5-2 record with a with a 1.97 goals-against-average and a .931 save percentage this season.
Yesterday’s loss to the Sabres was his first in regulation since Nov. 10.
