He’s back: Ghost returns vs. Rangers on Saturday afternoon

Here’s some good news for Flyers fans.

Rookie defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere will return to Philadelphia’s lineup after missing two games because of a lower-body injury.

The Flyers won both games without Gostisbehere, but he’ll be a welcomed addition to the power play that went 0-for-8 during his absence.

“We’ve played well the last couple of games with Ghost out, and we’ll look to play well when he gets back in,” said head coach Dave Hakstol, per Philly.com. “What does he bring? He brings an offensive-attack mentality. But just like any one of our defensemen, he’s got to defend well. He’s got to move the puck out of the zone well. And for him, he can bring an offensive element that is pretty valuable to the game.”

Despite playing just 23 games this season, Gostisbehere leads all rookie defenders in goals (7) and he’s second in points (16).

According to CSN Philly, the 22-year-old will jump back onto first power play unit, while Mark Streit will go down to the second.

The Flyers host the Rangers at 1:00 pm ET on Saturday.
