These are good times for the Philadelphia Flyers.
Winners of four in a row after defeating the Boston Bruins on Wednesday, and winners in six of their last 10 games, the Flyers are now two points back of a playoff spot.
Wayne Simmonds, who scored the tying goal in the third period against the Bruins and continues to enjoy his time on a line with Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek, gave a ringing endorsement for Flyers bench boss Dave Hakstol, an NHL rookie, after the game.
Maybe at first he was a curious hire from the University of North Dakota because he didn’t have NHL experience. But after an adjustment period at the beginning of the season, which included the introduction of a whole new system, said Simmonds, Hakstol has helped guide the Flyers into playoff contention.
