It may have been tempting for Evander Kane to bury an empty netter against his former team, the Winnipeg Jets, but he opted to do the unselfish thing instead.
With under 30 seconds remaining in the game and the Sabres up 3-2, Kane passed up a shot at an empty net goal and instead moved the puck to Sam Reinhart, who buried it to score his first career hat trick.

Kane finshed the game with one assist, three shots on goal and four hits in over 21 minutes of ice time.
