Alex Ovechkin is closing in on the 500-goal mark.
Ovechkin opened the scoring late in the first period of Saturday’s game against the Rangers when he intercepted a Dan Girardi pass and buried it into an open net.
The goal was the 498th of his career.
Ovechkin has frustrated Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist throughout his career, but it’s hard to blame King Henrik on that one.
